One thing I love about my husband is that he supports my love of books, and he loves books as well.
One thing my husband is also very good at is calling me on it when I edge up against the limits of the meanings of words.
I have a confession. I went to my favorite used bookstore today. I really just went to turn in some books for credit (the True Blood series I read while pregnant with my son, if you must know).
But whilst there, I sort of stumbled upon some books by the lovely Deanna Raybourn, and I couldn’t resist! Oh and there were a couple others that just fell down in front of me, and I can’t resist a book in need of love.
Anyway, as I walked toward my lovely husband with my armful of books, he said, “I thought you’re not getting any new books until the end of the year?”
I responded, rather appropriately, in my opinion, “Well, they’re not new.”
And then he made this face…
and told me I was cheating. I said, “No, they’re not new.”
Then he said, “Fine, ask your blog readers,” at which I tittered nervously.
So. I said I would ask my readers to decide. He said, “You’re gonna lose.”
Oh well, I’ve still got my books. And here is the haul from today, so you can see:
Love your honesty! I’m glad you bought them!
